Why is it...

...that whenever a truck or bus or massive tree goes crashing through the wall or roof of someone's house into their bedroom or lounge, that it's always later found out that the person inside was in that room seconds before the incident, and had they not left the room at that second, they'd be squished?

Is it luck? Can they sense it? Do they get a warning of some sort?
